​​Development roles
EHNA Development is supported by a Development Sub-Committee and a team of appointed coaches who work together to deliver athlete development programs, representative pathways and a positive development environment.

Development Sub-Committee
Association Development Officer (ADO)
Provides overall leadership and coordination of EHNA Development programs and pathways.
Key responsibilities include:
-
Leading and coordinating the Development Sub-Committee.
-
Planning and overseeing EHNA development programs and representative pathways.
-
Liaising with the EHNA Executive Committee, Netball WA and other relevant stakeholders.
-
Coordinating program calendars, key dates and development activities.
-
Supporting coaches, team managers and other Development volunteers.
-
Overseeing budgets, reporting and Development planning.
-
Ensuring Development programs align with EHNA policies, objectives and player pathways.

Administration support
Provides administrative and communication support across EHNA Development programs.
Key responsibilities include:
-
Managing registrations, participant records and Development documentation.
-
Preparing and distributing program, trial and team communications.
-
Maintaining Development calendars, lists and records.
-
Assisting with forms, surveys and player information.
-
Supporting the ADO and other Sub-Committee members with administrative tasks.
-
Ensuring Development information is accurate and up to date.

Coaching Lead/mentor
Supports the recruitment, development and coordination of coaches across EHNA Development programs.
Key responsibilities include:
-
Assisting with the appointment and allocation of Development coaches.
-
Supporting coaches throughout the season and providing a point of contact for coaching matters.
-
Promoting coach education, mentoring and development opportunities.
-
Helping ensure consistency in coaching standards and athlete development.
-
Supporting Head, Assistant and Apprentice Coaches in their respective roles.
-
Liaising with the ADO regarding coaching needs and concerns.

Uniform & Equipment Coordinator
Coordinates uniforms and equipment required for Development programs and representative teams.
Key responsibilities include:
-
Managing the allocation, issue and return of Development uniforms.
-
Maintaining uniform and equipment records.
-
Coordinating equipment requirements for training, trials and competitions.
-
Monitoring stock levels and identifying replacement or purchasing needs.
-
Preparing equipment for teams and Development programs.
-
Liaising with the ADO regarding budget and purchasing requirements.

Team Manager Coordinator
Supports and coordinates Team Managers across EHNA representative teams.
Key responsibilities include:
-
Recruiting and allocating Team Managers.
-
Providing Team Managers with information, expectations and resources.
-
Acting as the main contact for Team Manager enquiries.
-
Supporting consistent administration and communication across teams.
-
Assisting Team Managers with competition, carnival and championship requirements.
-
Liaising with coaches and the ADO where required.

Trials Coordinator
Coordinates the planning and delivery of Development trials and selection processes.
Key responsibilities include:
-
Planning trial dates, formats, schedules and logistics.
-
Coordinating player registrations and trial groups.
-
Recruiting and organising selectors.
-
Preparing trial documentation, court rotations and selection resources.
-
Supporting a fair, consistent and transparent selection process.
-
Collating selection outcomes and assisting with team announcements.
-
Maintaining confidentiality throughout the selection process.

Programs Coordinator
Coordinates EHNA’s participation in Development competitions, carnivals and additional playing opportunities outside the core Development programs.
Key responsibilities include:
-
Coordinating EHNA’s participation in Premier League and the Metro Development Competition.

Identifying and coordinating other suitable carnivals and competition opportunities for Development teams.
-
Managing competition and carnival registrations, nominations and key dates.
-
Coordinating team entry requirements and relevant information for coaches and Team Managers.
-
Liaising with competition organisers, venues and other associations where required.
-
Working with the ADO to determine which competitions and carnivals align with EHNA’s athlete development pathway.
-
Supporting the planning and delivery of additional Development events and opportunities as required.

Development Coaches
Head Coach
Leads the coaching and development of an allocated team or program group.
Key responsibilities include:
-
Planning and delivering structured training sessions.
-
Leading match-day coaching and team preparation where applicable.
-
Supporting the development of individual athletes and the team as a whole.
-
Creating a positive, inclusive and development-focused environment.
-
Communicating clearly with athletes, parents, Team Managers and Development staff.
-
Working collaboratively with Assistant and Apprentice Coaches.
-
Providing feedback and contributing to player development and selection processes where required.
Minimum accreditation: Development Coach Accreditation or higher.

Assistant Coach
Supports the Head Coach in the delivery of training, competition and athlete development.
Key responsibilities include:
-
Assisting with training preparation and delivery.
-
Providing individual and small-group coaching where required.
-
Supporting match-day coaching and team preparation.
-
Providing observations and feedback to the Head Coach.
-
Helping maintain a positive and supportive team environment.
-
Supporting athlete development across the season.
-
Stepping into additional coaching responsibilities when required.
-
Working collaboratively with the Head Coach, Apprentice Coach and Team Manager.
Minimum accreditation: Foundation Coach Accreditation or higher.

Apprentice Coach
Develops practical coaching skills while working under the guidance of experienced Development coaches.
Key responsibilities include:

Attending and actively assisting with training sessions.
-
Observing and learning from the Head and Assistant Coaches.
-
Assisting with drills, warm-ups, skill activities and small-group coaching.
-
Gradually taking responsibility for selected coaching activities as confidence and experience develop.
-
Seeking and responding to feedback from mentor coaches.
-
Participating in coach education and development opportunities.
-
Supporting a positive and encouraging environment for athletes.
-
Working towards increased coaching knowledge, confidence and accreditation.
Minimum accreditation: Foundation Coach Accreditation or higher.
