COACHES

Coaches are at the heart of everything we do at Eastern Hills Netball Association. Whether you’re stepping into coaching for the very first time, supporting a team as a parent, or looking to grow and challenge yourself further, you are part of a pathway that is shaping the future of our athletes and our netball community.

Coaching is more than running drills and game day rotations — it’s about creating positive environments, building confidence, developing skills, and fostering a lifelong love of the game. At EHNA, we are committed to supporting our coaches at every stage of their journey by providing access to the right tools, resources, education, and mentoring opportunities.

All EHNA coaches are welcome to attend and observe our Development training sessions. This is a great opportunity to gather new ideas, see skill progressions in action, ask questions, and continue learning in a practical environment. We encourage you to come down, connect, and be part of the shared coaching experience.

On this page you’ll find:

  • Resources to help our NetSetGO coaches build strong foundations

  • Links to accredited coaching courses and learning opportunities

  • Upcoming workshop dates and development sessions

No matter where you are starting from, you are not alone — you are part of a connected, supportive netball family that values growth, knowledge, and the impact great coaching has on every player who walks onto the court.

DEVELOPMENT COACHING

Have you ever thought about taking the next step in your coaching journey? Becoming a Development coach is a fantastic way to build your confidence, grow your knowledge, and work more closely within the EHNA pathway — and it’s not as scary as you think!

You don’t have to step straight into a lead role. Coaches can begin as an Apprentice Coach, simply by coming along to sessions, watching, learning, and asking questions in a supportive, no-pressure environment. From there, you can progress to an Assistant Coach, working alongside an experienced coach, before stepping into a Head Coach position when you feel ready.

Our Development program is designed to grow coaches as well as athletes. You’ll have access to session plans, practical learning opportunities, and a strong network of experienced coaches who are there to support you every step of the way.

Development coaching gives you the opportunity to:

  • Work with athletes who are eager to learn and improve

  • See skill progressions and session planning in action

  • Build your technical and game sense knowledge

  • Connect with other passionate coaches

  • Take the next step towards representative and pathway coaching

If you’re curious, come down, watch a session, ask questions, and have a chat with us. You don’t have to feel “ready” — you just need to be willing to learn.

We’ve gathered a range of resources to support you throughout the season. Whether you need session ideas, age-appropriate activities, or guidance on planning your training environment, these tools are here to help you feel confident and prepared.
